Knockers Up, two, three, four….

A recording of Sexplosion was my introduction to Rusty Warren. A Las Vegas comedienne of the Year, Rusty currently lives in Hawaii and still performs. My hopes are great that she’ll pass through Las Vegas in the near future and I’ll get my chance to see her before she dies.

I grew up listening to her albums. She was among my father’s favorite performers and when no one was home I’d pull out those records from their hiding place, crank up the old high-fi, and laugh myself silly.

Rusty’s frank and humorous honesty about sex, shared by her on stage at a time when women didn’t speak of such things—at least publicly—put her on the map. Rusty’s performances proved that we can not only talk about difficult subjects, but have fun with them, find the humor in them. Her early influence on my has had a positive effect on my entire life.
